The 2017 Olney Open is scheduled for September 11th
The 2017 Olney Open golf tournament will be held on September 11th at the Montgomery Country Club. The honorary chairman and Master of Ceremonies is Walt Williams, former University of Maryland basketball star who played 11 years in the NBA and is one of the voices of the Terps basketball.
Our special guest will be Rich Leotta, father of Noah Leotta, a Montgomery County Police officer who died in the line of duty at the age of 24 on December 10th, 2015 at the hands of a drunk driver. His legacy of saving lives will continue with the passage of "Noah's Law." This tournament will contribute to the Police Officer Noah Leotta "Act Responsibly Scholarship" sponsored by the Olney Chamber of Commerce and supported by the Olney Lions Club.
We expect more than 100 golfers to gather for a day of fun, with the highlight being the 18 hole scramble format tournament. The entrance fee includes 18 holes of golf with cart, range balls, a pre-tee off breakfast of bagels and coffee, and a post-game cookout with door prizes. There is also a putting contest, closest to the hole contest, and longest drive contest. Your entrance fee is partially tax deductible as all proceeds go to charitable organizations. Come join us for a fun day of golf with your friends and neighbors. If you own a local business, you may wish to help sponsor the tournament. For more information, contact us at [email protected]. To enter a team, download and print the registration form, then submit as indicated on the form. If you wish to be a sponsor, download and submit the sponsor form. We look forward to seeing you there.
